Background:

Illinois Material Handling is a division of Wisconsin Lift Truck, one of the largest material handling companies in the Midwest.  Wisconsin Lift Truck, established in 1962, began operating in Illinois in the mid 1980's.  Business growth led us to establish our Illinois Material Handling division in 1995.  By 2006 Illinois Material Handling had grown to over 150 employees and 60 technicians.

Until 2006, Illinois Material Handling was a Caterpillar dealer in both Illinois and Wisconsin.  In 2006, Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America asked dealers to consolidate so that each dealer represented both Caterpillar and Mitsubishi in their assigned territories.  That year we agreed to exchange our Caterpillar operations in Illinois for another dealer’s Mitsubishi operations in Wisconsin.   As part of that agreement we agreed to withdraw from the Illinois market for three years. 

Now, with our transition of Caterpillar distribution in Illinois fulfilled, we are re-establishing Illinois Material Handling with a commitment to be the best material handling company in Northern Illinois.  It is our mission “to enable our customers’ success through value-added solutions, supported by superior service and quality products, professionally delivered with a sense of urgency”.

We want to be your resource for over 25 lines of forklifts, aerial equipment, construction equipment, personnel carriers and industrial cleaning equipment.  We provide service parts, and rental support for all of the lines we carry and all of the competing lines of equipment.    

Our Fleet Services division can assist you in increasing the productivity of your fleet.   

We offer comprehensive service programs for all of your material handling needs including scheduled maintenance and full maintenance programs. We are committed to providing superior service. Our technicians are among the best trained in the industry. 

Our Allied Products division provides a broad spectrum of competitively priced engineered systems, and storage and handling products supported by an on-line catalog customized to your requirements. 

Our parts support is the best in the industry.  We provide parts for all makes and models of lift trucks.  We offer a state-of-the-art, on-line parts system with over $1.5 million in inventory. 

Our Contractors Equipment Services division provides aerials, booms, telehandlers and construction equipment.
