Renting a forklift is a great way to complete your short or long-term projects efficiently, safely, and timely.

This is why we offer an easy-to-use forklift rental guide to help you determine which size of forklift will best fit your needs, and whether you will need gas, LP or electric for your application.

Whether you’d like a quote or to learn more about a specific piece of equipment, we’re here to help. Get started on your rental today!

You can also rely on our forklift and material handling experts to answer many of your questions in selecting the right lift truck for the job.

Capacity/Forklift Truck Size

It’s important to know the weight of what you are picking up. This way, our rental team can place you with the right forklift truck.

Also, be aware of the dimensions of the product to ensure proper fork attachment length – and remember a load longer than 48″ will reduce the capacity.

Whatever the load, we can assist you in sizing the right forklift for your application.

Lifting Height

Measure how high the forklift needs to lift – measure in inches, then add 6 inches. Lift trucks are a reliable way to move product and material onto a racking system, truck, or other storage areas.

However, keep in mind that some forklift might not fit through standard doors or entryways. To be certain, measure doorways (width and height), aisles, and any other overhead obstructions.

Also remember that the forklift will need room to turn around – possibly in an aisle. Your application might require a 3-wheel sit-down forklift or a narrow aisle forklift truck.

Preparing yourself with each piece of this information will ensure a job well done by the truck.

Cushion Tire Forklift / Pneumatic Tire Forklift

Now that we have identified the type of forklift you need and it’s fork attachment length, there’s only one question left. What is the terrain that the forklift truck needs to travel over?

Concrete, blacktop, gravel, grass, or dirt. Each requires a specific type of forklift tire.

Indoor applications with hard surfaces use cushion tires as they are smaller, made of hard rubber compound, and typically more compact and maneuverable.

Outdoor or applications on softer terrain demand pneumatic tires. The pneumatic tires are larger and have deeper traction grooves allowing for travel over wet, rougher conditions.
