Automated Guided Vehicles
Automated guided vehicles (AGV) are similar to automated guided carts (AGC) in that they are driverless vehicles designed for material transportation and assembly line tasks. However, AGVs are more ideal for heavier-duty applications and offer more flexibility along with additional capabilities and features. AGVs can run on a number of guide path systems including wire, laser track, vision and inertial, enhancing speed, precision and safety.
Traveling on the ground floor, these computer-operated load carrier robots utilize sensor software for pick up and delivery and feature detection bumpers for added assurance. Use AGVs for both raw and pre-loaded materials and efficiently move goods to a variety of locations within a facility. These systems boast reduced operation costs, repeatability, and on-point scheduling. They work extremely well in a variety of indoor environments.
